Award-winning German Designer Sebastian Herkner studied Product Design at HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design and went on to work at Stella McCartney in London before forming his own studio in 2006.

As one of the most sought-after product designers in Europe, he has designed furniture, lamps and smaller items for Ames, &Tradition, Cappellini, ClassiCon, Dedon, Gubi, Ligne Roset, Moroso, Pulpo, Rosenthal, Thonet, Wittmann and more.

In 2019, Maison&Objet elected him as “Designer of the Year”.

In this episode of HELLO HOLLY, he speaks candidly about his life and work, what he has learned along the way, why living in a small town has had its advantages, things that matter most to him, trends he sees in the industry, and why he got into the world of interiors in the first place.

This podcast is for anyone who wants to get to know Sebastian better and is particularly interesting for design students or those new to the industry who often wonder what a famous designer considers most important in this competitive and fast-paced field. Sebastian is inspiring and a real dynamo, so sit back and enjoy the show!
