She Loves Stars {total cuteness}
Hannah Billings owns the cute online store She Loves Stars and she's on Flickr and her photos are so pretty! She has many great images of small English villages (she lives in Hampshire, UK) along with sweet shots of Paris and London.
If you also dream of European life, you'll really love browsing her many photos. I selected a few of my favorites and grouped them together, I really like these soft pastels and seeing a cute store sign announcing fresh lavender bread made me a bit weak in the knees. Since Hannah owns a small business online, I thought that I'd ask her a few questions to accompany the photos so you could get to know her a little better.
decor8: Can you tell readers what you sell in your shop?
Hannah: My style is colourful, fun, and full of floral patterns so my store reflects that. It's a mixture of homewares, accessories and stationary. A small selection of my items have been imported from Japan, and others are handmade or produced by some of my favourite designers. I'm hoping to introduce more handmade designs this year along with vintage finds and crafty supplies. A bit of a selection of things I love and collect myself!
decor8: What made you want to open an online store?
Hannah: I wanted to create a small space to sell designs and items I was passionate about. I always get excited when I discover a designer or crafts person that makes beautiful things, and I thought how lovely it would be to make a shop where I could have the chance to stock their goods.
decor8: What inspires you?
Hannah: I love collecting interior magazines and books and looking at all the different ideas in them. I'm especially fond of Cath Kidston and her use of vintage style fabrics. Flickr and lovely blogs are great inspirations too, I love seeing other peoples homes and how they decorate them. I also find inspiration from reading and collecting books, crochet, knitting, sewing, weaving, taking photographs, and going for walks.
decor8: What are some of your favorite things at home?
Hannah: Second hand items from charity shops or bootsales, like little tea sets, pretty fabrics, old furniture I've purchased and given a makeover. I love anything handmade too and have become quite addicted to Etsy and all the wonderful shops on there.
decor8: What are some of your favorite books and magazines?
Hannah: Country Living (UK), Country Homes and Interiors (UK), Frankie, and Selvedge are some of my favourite magazines. There are so many books! Japanese craft books, In Print, and Tips for Vintage Style by Cath Kidston, Sew Pretty Home Style by Tonne Finnanger, The Crafters Companion (decor8 review here), Bend the Rules Sewing, The Gentle Art of Domesticity by Jane Brocket are all pride of place on my bookshelf right now! (decor8 note: Jane Brocket authors the popular UK blog Yarnstorm.)
It was so nice to meet you Hannah and to learn about your darling store She Loves Stars, too!
